Tuesday, August 26, 2003 -
6 more days til school goes back ! ! ! We are going camping this weekend with Jenni and Reghanne at Sauble Beach -- haven't been to Sauble in years and we've already been there twice ! ! ! ! this summer. I have no idea what to pack, how much to pack but at least we won't be that far from home that I can always slip home to get something we missed {as long as I remember my pillow, we can make do without anything else LOL}.
Milt's finger is slowly healing - it still looks horrible but that's what 25,000 degrees will do to a finger. The nail is completely brown and dead and the blisters are popping and oozing and looking gross.
Kylee and her friends are going to the movies tomorrow for Ky's birthday party ! Hopefully everyone comes that says that they are going.
The van is almost ready to paint but I've heard that for a while now so I'm not getting too excited about it until I see him putting on his paint suit !
Saturday, August 23, 2003 -
Baseball is FINALLY over for another year. Kylee won her game last night and then again this morning but lost the 2nd game they played today. It just went bad right from the beginning but they played really well and really hard and did great considering how many games they've played this week.
We spent the weekend at mom's and dad's since she played last night and first thing this morning. That was nice -- I haven't been there for quite a while and it was nice to talk to them again. The kids haven't slept there forever so they thought it was a great adventure having a sleepover at gramma's.
We got the water fixed on Thursday after about 8 hours of trying to figure out what the blockage was -- it was not biodegrable because it just would not budge at all. You don't realize how much you need water until you don't have any {actually, we had water, just no way to get rid of it}.
Kate finished her Bronze Cross yesterday -- she PASSED even though she got a "weak" on her timed swims. One more course {National Lifeguard Training Course} and she can be a lifeguard. $1,000 later she can finally get a job to earn some of what it has cost me back.

2 weeks left til school goes back ! Woohoo ! Just 4 more ball games then baseball is over for the year too ! ! I didn't think it was ever going to end. Kwyn learned to ride his bicycle {well, Kari's bike} on the weekend. He is so proud of himself ! He may just have to get his new bike for his birthday instead of for Christmas !
Kylie is over for a few days -- I'm sure she thinks I'm a lunatic ! She was up at 8 am and woke everyone up ! Kid has been in "holy terror" mode ever since.
Dennis and Audrey were here for the weekend -- Dennis needed to destress ! He sure did that -- he slept for 12 hours Saturday night and was drunk by noon on Sunday. I guess that's destressing !
Thursday, August 14, 2003 -
Thursday again ! Where has this week gone? Kylee finally passed her Level 7 -- 3 private lessons, which meant biking into town and back every day. We thought we'd be smart yesterday and go home the long way since we weren't in any hurry -- BIG MISTAKE -- I should've remembered from last year just how long the LONG way is ! Took us 2 hours to get home ! Then it was back to Owen Sound for baseball last night - we finally won ! Kylee made the pop fly catch to end the game and they were making it close enough with some walks to make us all a little nervous ! She was so amazed she caught it, she had no idea what to do with it. Kate is doing Bronze Cross and she is biking into town to get there. She bitches and chews a lot about it but I don't think she really minds the bike ride though. Tomorrow is Milt's Birthday - 46 ! What an old man, may have to trade him in for a younger model soon. LOL Monday is Kylee's Birthday - guess I should start planning her party. Ashley is staying with us for a day or two -- it is nice to have her here again. She helps to keep the kids entertained. My scanner is still ticking me off - sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't. And when it doesn't, it screws up the computer so I have to keep rebooting. I am trying to re-do the pictures page on my website - not going well at all. I think I may be getting in over my head LOL 2 1/2 weeks of summer holidays left -- I can't believe how fast this summer has gone by.
Sunday, August 10, 2003 -
This has been an insane week. Final week of swimming lessons -- everyone passed but Kylee so I signed her up for some private lessons to get Level 7 finished. Kwyn was "swimmer of the week" and gets his picture in the paper. He was so excited about that ! A friend of mine, Audrey, was up to visit for a few days on her holidays. She had to go home to go back to work to recover from her holidays -- the kids wore her right out. We went to Sauble for the afternoon, got pizza and ice cream -- in general, the kids had a blast with her. Kari's ball tournament was this weekend -- off to a rocky start last night -- they lost by 1 run -- such a heartbreaker. But they played again this morning and kicked some Tyke butt so they went on to the Consolation Finals WHICH THEY WON ! It was a really close game. Kari finally started hitting the ball - 4 times in 2 games Wooohoo ! She did fabulously. She is so proud of her trophy. The day did not end well -- got home to Milt totally spazzing at the kids but what else is new. Something wasn't going right on the van so he came over and had a fit at the kids. Started bitching at me -- the top of the fridge needs "to breathe" so I cleaned it off pretty damn quick. He's still picking papers up from under the kitchen table. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH ! Men, what idiots !

Monday, August 04, 2003 -
Another long weekend bites the dust ! ! Just 4 short weeks til the kids go back to school. Kids spent all day Sunday at the fair -- endless rides, over and over and over -- even in the rain. They had a blast though so as long as they were having fun . . . Kids are getting ready tonight for baseball again -- Kari's tournament is coming up this weekend. I can't wait for her to actually hit the ball. Today is the last day of Milt's holidays -- still no finished van but it is soooooooo close.
